What the job involves

  • Help us create industry-defining hardware products – you’re an early employee in the tech team, so your role will be varied!

  • Contribute to the design and development of our next generation AI & security hardware solutions, focusing on the development and implementation of Integrated Circuits (ICs) across both Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs)

  • Developing and specifying microarchitectures for our SoC IP, working with the broader component design team to deliver effective and secure product

  • Implement 3rd party IP where appropriate from our supplier partners

  • Be responsible for taking concepts all the way from ideation to delivery: work collaboratively with other engineers on our team to deliver on the overall product, and interface with our fab partners, taking design through proof of concept to GDS and scale production

  • Document and demonstrate the solutions you come up to the team along the way

  • Proactively look to continuously improve on the solutions you build

  • This is a hybrid role, with a mixture of working from home and in the office. We know how important it is to build in a customer-centric way, so you may be asked to travel to meet SECQAI’s customers and partners in person

  • Maintaining the highest standards of integrity: you’ll protect SECQAI’s operations and that of our clients by maintaining confidentiality at all times

Who you are

Required:

  • MSc electrical engineering, or a Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field

  • Industry experience with SoC microarchitectures (e.g. x86, ARM, RISC, SPARC, MIPS)

  • Your hardware engineering skills are complemented by software skills (e.g. SysVerilog/VHDL, C/ C++/ Assembly, HLS or Python)

  • You’ve successfully taped out in industry

  • You’re inquisitive and a self-starter. You love learning, solving problems outside of your comfort zone, starting new things and taking them through to production, all the while learning from your mistakes

  • You enjoy collaborating with and supporting a wide range of peers and mentors

  • You set a high bar for your own work (both how it works, and how it looks)

Desirable

  • You have experience in FPGA Design and Verification using VHDL and/or Verilog

  • You have familiarity with DSP, use of IP modules and hybrid CPU/FPGA schemes

  • You have knowledge and experience on setting up an ASIC verification environment

  • You have knowledge of Bus interfaces like PCIE or AXI

  • You have integration experience with third party IPs

  • You have experience scripting for experimental control and data analysis

  • You’re interested in building secure systems and platforms, interfacing complex systems, and have knowledge of relevant security standards

  • You’re interested in ensuring transparency, observability and alerting within mission-critical distributed systems

  • You have practical experience as a technical lead through the full hardware development lifecycle, from conception, architecture definition, design, simulation, planning, implementation, fabrication, testing to documentation and maintenance
